	<description>In a 44-year career, P.M. Ireland rose from junior draftsman with the 
		Prahran &amp; Malvern Tramway Trust to Rolling Stock Engineer at the Melbourne 
		&amp; Metropolitan Tramways Board, in charge of the Preston Workshops and the depots. 
		Ireland was also a Tramway ANZAC, serving as a signalman at Gallipoli and 
		the Western Front in World War I.
